Brimming with Ragin’ Cajuns spirit? We have an app for that

Social media and texting just got a huge dose of Ragin’ Cajuns spirit and pride.

UL Lafayette has launched the Ragin’ Cajuns Emojis & Filters app. It is available for Android and iOS devices. Anyone can download the free app.

It provides an iMessage application with a range of Ragin’ Cajuns-themed emojis and GIFs, and a collection of animated, Louisiana-branded filters and stickers.

Such icons and images can be used in texting, and on many social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp.

Emojis are small digital icons or images that convey ideas, thoughts or emotions in electronic communication. GIFs, an acronym for graphics interchange format, are color images and short animations that loop continuously. The app’s filters graphically frame photos taken by the user.

Dozens of Ragin’ Cajuns-specific icons and images are available with the new app. They include depictions of Martin Hall, the ŷƬ’s Welcome Wall, Cajun Field, game day GIFs of fans and players, ŷƬ logos and a series of small, animated figures clad in athletic uniforms.

The app can be downloaded at the App Store and is available on Google Play. Users are able to set up a customized keyboard with a range of icons that can be shared via text messages or on social media.

“(Fans are) going to have a great time showing off their Ragin’ Cajuns spirit through these emojis, GIFs and filters,” stated Andrew LaForge, CEO of Fotobom Media Inc.

The company, based in San Francisco, helps universities, sports teams, and businesses develop apps that promote their brands.
