Computer Science (M.S.)
Our master’s in computer science by the (CACS) in the School of Computing and Informatics. CACS brings together the Computer Engineering M.S.E. and the Computer Science M.S. programs under one research-focused umbrella. This unique structure provides the opportunity to learn about both areas while focusing on research and coursework in one of the two disciplines.
UL Lafayette was the first ŷƬ to combine the two related, but distinct, disciplines.
CACS makes its research laboratories and equipment available to students and maintains close working relationships with several research centers like the Informatics Research Institute (IRI), Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise (LITE), and the UL NASA Regional Application Center (RAC).

As a UL Lafayette graduate student, you are automatically enrolled as a member of the Graduate Student Organization (GSO). The GSO plays a pivotal role in representing the needs and concerns of its members to the ŷƬ administration. The GSO has departmental representatives and a group of student officers that meet regularly to address pressing issues affecting graduate students as well as actively participate in influential ŷƬ bodies. The GSO is in charge of allocating student-assessed fees and the organization offers funding opportunities for graduate students.
