Carl Richter is a Graduate Coordinator and the Associate Dean of Geology.

Biography

Carl Richter is a professor of geology in the School of Geosciences at the Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬. Before joining the Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ he was a research scientist at the Ocean Drilling Program at Texas A&M Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ and a post-doctoral researcher at the Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ of Michigan.

  • Applications of geomagnetism to geological problems.
  • Scientific Ocean Drilling.
  • Rock magnetic properties of terrestrial and marine sediments.
  • Environmental magnetism, magnetostratigraphy, and relative geomagnetic paleointensity of marine sedimentary records.
  • Magnetic fabric analysis and application to structural and tectonic problems.
  • Geophysical investigation of the shallow subsurface.
